The saying “you can’t judge a book by its cover” may be theoretically true, but that doesn’t keep people from doing it. You can easily turn off potential readers with a bad or misleading cover. We’ll learn how to design a book cover that begs the reader to pick it up. We’ll cover where to get images online, how to decide on fonts, and the general do’s and don’ts of book cover design. And we’ll learn how to make accurate and enticing book trailers online, a great way to help word about your book go “viral.” Please bring a laptop for this hands-on design tutorial.
Nina Alvarez of Dream Your Book Author Services and Joy Argento, award-winning artist and amazon best-selling indie novelist, are teaming up to offer an 8-week series on Self-Publishing. Aspiring self-publishers will learn how to navigate print-on-demand publishing through CreateSpace and eBook publishing with Kindle, Nook, and other eReaders. All classes are offered a la carte, so pick and choose according to your needs.
Note: Many classes require that you come prepared with a laptop and are proficient using computer applications such as Word and comfortable enough online to navigate applications such as CreateSpace, Kindle, Smashwords, Animoto, and Weebly.
