You’re working hard on your play, or you would like to write a play. But you know that playwrights use a language (Latinate stage directions, etc.), that directors and performers understand and need, but you’re a little fuzzy with it. How much does the playwright contribute the movements of a production? Where do the playwright’s stage directions leave off and the director’s blocking begin? This short class will cover all the common language of stage directions, and discuss their most effective use.
