Calling all quest-seekers! Based on collaborative storytelling games like Dungeons & Dragons, this class will explore rich, fantastical worlds. We will create complex, driven characters, and learn how to hone our plot points into stories that the bards will sing of for ages to come. We will study tricks for tackling that fearsome beast known as writer’s block, and find answers for age-old riddles like “How do I make a believable backstory for my character?” and “How do I make my story a page-turner?” On Friday, each child will leave with a fantastical setting, a host of interesting characters, the beginning of a story, and the knowledge that writing itself is the real adventure.
