Memoir writing has become very popular as a way to process personal experiences while it also constantly begs the question of when and where reality and one’s own life turns into pre-pure fiction. The genre provokes questions about the nature of storytelling but also seems resistant to easy answers. This class presents five very different films ranging from the profound to the hilarious in aims to examine how very personal life experiences can be translated into a visual medium the choice of films will be eclectic and hopefully surprising.
