This is a beginner’s reading course in Koine Greek, which was the Greek language that prevailed in the Hellenic world, roughly 300 BCE to 600 CE. It is the language of the New Testament, the Septuagint, Plutarch, and many of the philosophers and church fathers of that era. This class will get you started and whet your appetite for more. Knowledge of Koine also provides the fundamentals necessary for exploring Classical Greek. The text we’ll be using is the widely available Primer of New Testament Greek by N. Clayton Croy.
