Have you ever been confounded by non-narrative poetry? Do you sometimes feel your work lacks wonder and surprise? Are you interested in alternate or new ways of approaching poetry? If you answered yes to any of these questions, this workshop is for you. In it, we will look at various poetry movements from Imagism to Contextual and Language Poetry in order to understand intent. We will read and discuss works of poets from Ezra Pound to Louis Zukovsky and we will challenge ourselves with various non-narrative exercises to write new and surprising poetry of our own.
