Every novel and every short story has a plot, whether or not the writer wants it to. This one-day workshop will discuss what all good stories, long and short, have in common in their plots, and what most bad stories have in common in theirs. Plot should never result from a formula, but neither should it be an accident. The good writer has as much control over plot as she or he has over style. This workshop will provide a detailed discussion of how to achieve that control.
