Poisoned Apple: Dark Folklore Workshop

Instructor(s): Meags Downing
Beginner Beginner Beginner

“Once upon a time…” These words always result in happy endings, or do they? What about the Wicked Queen or the Dragon? What becomes of them? This class will explore the side of fairytales that don’t often make the cut. Students will come up with their own concept and characters, and are expected to write their own fairy tales or a story with elements of dark folklore. The first session will involve learning the tropes and folklore while the second will be exclusively workshopping students’ stories. By the end of the workshop, students will have created a complete short story.
