If short stories and poetry existed on a continuum, they would come together in prose poetry and flash fiction. Flash fiction and prose poetry are like kissing cousins, fraternal twins; poignant moments of illumination. They differ in that prose poems use predominately images where flash fiction uses actions. In fact, canny authors will often submit shorts as either flash fiction or prose poetry depending on the needs of the magazine. In this workshop, we will explore both forms, workshop your manuscripts to make them submission-ready, and discuss possible publication outlets for both prose poetry and flash fiction.
