Standing at the Intersection of Lyric and Narrative: A Master Class in Flash Fiction/Prose Poetry

Instructor(s): Sarah Freligh
Location: WAB – 740 University Ave.

Prose poetry or flash fiction: different animals? Or are they one and the same? In this class, we’ll study some examples of each form and use those to inspire our own flash/prose pieces. You’ll leave class with drafts in progress and a list of markets for your finished work. Ideal for poets wanting to bust out into prose, and fiction writers who yearn to be poets. Students must first apply before enrolling. To apply for this class, you must submit a sample of your work (5 poems or 5-10 pages of fiction) to submissions@
