First Friday / Wide Open Mic: Claude Bragdon

Hosted by: Norm Davis

Writers & Books is proud to participate in First Friday each month. We pick a theme and put out snacks, you come and enjoy our building. Peruse the bookstore, pick up a catalog and participate in whatever free themed event we have that evening. Wide Open Mic, Rochester’s longest running open mic, kicks off at 7:00 in our Performance Space with host Norm Davis.#FirstFridayROC

July 7: Claude Bragdon: Rochester architect Claude Bragdon built the Third Police Precinct building on Univerity Avenue that now houses Writers & Books. Come walk through the first floor of the building and learn about the architect and the history of our building.

August 4: Stephen King Night. Come show your support of the king of
horror. Themed snacks, games, second-hand books for sale, and more. Write your own 100-word scary story to bring home or share! We’ll be highlighting the Dark Tower Series in homage to the upcoming movie release & our DT discussion group happening the following week.
