Reenah Golden is a poet, spoken word artist, and playwright who has been a teaching artist and teacher educator for over 17 years. Reenah is a native of Rochester where she coached the first slam team in the city to a National title. She is the author of three chapbooks: Revelations from the Single Mama Tribe, All Me, and Mother to Son. Her work has been published locally in Rochester Magazine and several anthologies produced by Writers & Books, including A Woman’s Voice. Reenah is the author of two short plays; “Office Politics” and “Black Coffee-The Poets Café,” and the co-author of Hip Shake and several short films. She is an international performer and presenter including touring the one-woman show No Child by Nilaja Sun in which she plays 16 characters with 16 distinct voices. Reenah is a two-time New York State Council on the Arts Individual Artist Awardee, a Poets & Writers grant recipient, and the 2006 Writers & Books Teacher of Young People Literary Award Winner.
