Michael H. Arve
Michael H. Arve, in addition to being a published poet, has been active on the Rochester theatre scene for many years. He has acted and/or directed for Greater Rochester Repertory Companies, Inc. (GRRC), Blackfriars, The Shipping Dock Theatre, JCC Center Stage and The Cobblestone Arts Center. His production of The Belle of Amherst won state, regional, national, and international awards. Michael has appeared in more than 50 plays. For his performance as Matthew Brady in Auburn Players' production of Inherit the Wind the Theatre Association of New York State (TANYS) awarded him The Outstanding Actor Award. He was honored, along with the entire cast of The Mousetrap, with an Outstanding Ensemble Acting Merit Award, 2006. He has also taught numerous theatre classes for adults and children, and has more than fifty years experience in community and semi-professional theatre. A founding member of Plays in Progress Project, he is also TANYS’ VP for Public Relations and Conferences and Workshops and is also the Director of Development for GRRC.
