Instructor Bios Edward DoughertyEdward Dougherty After finishing the MFA in Bowling Green, Ohio, he taught for BGSU and was the Mid-American Review's poetry editor. For the next two years, he and his spouse volunteered at a peace center in Hiroshima. They now work at Corning Community College and are active in their Quaker Meeting. His poetry-writing textbook, Exercises for Poets: Double Bloom, co-authored with Scott Minar, is available from Prentice-Hall. He has published four chapbooks, the most recent, The Luminous House, is from Finishing Line Press. This year will see the publication of his first full-length collection, Pilgrimage to a Gingko Tree from WorldTech Communications, as well as his second, Observing Silence, from Plain View Press. In 2007 Edward was awarded the Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Scholarly and Creative Activity from the State University of New York.
