Where’s Walden III

Works by Elliot Williams

Crouching

I am the lion
crouching in the grass
ready to pounce on my prey.
I am the eagle who seeks its prey
and swoops down to gracefully catch it.
I will be dead sometime soon.

I hope that all the killing will stop.
I fear death.

Fragments Woven

The blue jay awoke to ignite the afternoon sun.

The list was about a toad with flames over its head.

Whoosh, splash into the rising waves of ocean went the father who got caught while the ocean flow-danced with the lightning.

I ate the silky squash after I caught it speeding.

Stone

Soil, soft and good for growing beautiful things.
Tree, tall and sturdy.
Mammal.
Bird.
Amphibian.
Cloud, large and looming with thunder that is
Air, warm, light and humid.
Plant.
