Born and raised on Long Island, Al once met Grandmaster Flash in the bathroom of a Barnes & Noble. Now he resides in the Rochester area, where he has lived for the last ten years. He received his B.A. in Sociology from SUNY Geneseo and still dreams about pizza from Mia’s. In 2010, he received his MFA from Bennington. His poems have appeared in such magazines as The Awl, Fugue, Guernica, Pleiades, Rattle, The Southampton Review, Washington Square, and others.
