Stage & ScreenEnter Stage Write
This course is for people who love to watch, read, and write plays. The instructor will discuss what makes a good story, how to create intriguing characters and lasting images, and how to make use of technical elements such as stage space, sound, and lights. This workshop is meant to inspire, encourage, and inform both beginning and more experienced playwrights eager to learn and improve. The instructor will concentrate on writing, class discussion, and feedback.

The Bertrand Russell SocietyThurs, Sept. 9 The Bertrand Russell Society was formed shortly after Russell’s death in 1970. Russell was born in 1872 and worked in fields such as mathematical logic; philosophy; social, religious, and educational reform; anti-war protests and politics. An accomplished writer, Russell received the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1950. This ongoing lecture series promises to enlighten and entertain. This class will teach you how to craft your ideas into an engaging, professional screenplay. You will learn how to develop three-dimensional characters through dialogue, inner-outer conflicts, and character arcs. You will learn plotting through inciting incidents, three-act structures, and mythic sequencing. We will study popular films to deconstruct their plot and characters. Additionally, we review formatting and style so your script will be submission ready.
