Executive Director Kyle Semmel Interviews Michael Chabon

A “work of fictional nonfiction,” this inventive book reveals, in stunning prose, the story of Chabon’s grandfather, a man who said little in his lifetime but grew loquacious during his last week of life due to pain medication and revealed previously unshared memories about war, sex, marriage and model rocketry. It is the latest of Chabon’s captivating fiction, which includes The Mysteries of PittsburghWonder Boys, The Yiddish Policemen’s Union and The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay, for which he won the Pulitzer Prize in Literature. The evening will feature a conversation with Writers & Books Executive Director Kyle Semmel.
