New Director of Adult Education Announced
Rochester, NY – We are happy to welcome Albert Abonado to the Writers & Books staff as our new Director of Adult Education.
After graduating from SUNY Geneseo, Abonado received his MFA in Creative Writing and Literature through Bennington College in Vermont. He has returned to Rochester as an active participant in the Arts community.
Abonado has served as the Associate Director of Marketing and Production for BOA Editions. After that he began working as the Editor of The Bakery, an online literary journal that focuses on publishing the work of emerging and established voices.
He is the author of several works of poetry including “Ghost in the Machine” Pleiades Vol. 33, No. 2, “Grandfather as a Boy Beneath the Floor” Memorious Spring 2012, and “The Morning Table,” New Ohio Review 10, Fall 2011. He has also been nominated for a Pushcart Prize.
As Director of Adult Education, Abonado is excited about the opportunity to work with the talented faculty and staff at Writers & books. He believes Rochester is a wellspring of creative energy and hopes to work with the wealth of creative talent in the area through collaborative projects and innovative programming.
