Breakfast Cereal and the Art of the Short Film

April 7, 2016 @ EST 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

$207

This class is for those who always wanted to turn their ideas into a short film screenplay and for those who want to learn about the basics of screenwriting. At the end of the class you will have written a complete screenplay for a 10 -15 minute film and will have been thoroughly introduced to the fundamentals of screenwriting. Some of the core concepts discussed will be key dramatic principles, the importance of conflict, creating a character and engaging an audience. Various film examples will be used to demonstrate the most important principles. Some of the questions answered in this class: How are short films different from feature films? How does a script need to look so I can submit it to a competition? And yes, I will explain the importance of the breakfast cereal in the title. You need to bring curiosity, a desire to write and to help others with their writing.
