Building Fantastical Worlds

Ages: 8-11

Have you ever wondered what it’s like living in a magical world, like that of Harry Potter, the Chronicles of Narnia, or The Borrowers? How does one leave the world of the everyday and leap into those of the fantastical ones? Better yet, how does one create their own? Join us for an exploration of surprising worlds of all shapes and sizes! Learn new perspectives from which to build original, in-depth worlds in your creative writing. Every student will create the building blocks for a fictional world, which could include a map, “rules” for the world, characters, illustrations, and the beginnings of stories. We’ll share our creations with family and friends on Friday!
