Calling all quest-seekers! What do collaborative role playing games like Dungeons & Dragons and writing have to do with each other? Quite a lot, as you’ll discover. In this class, we’ll explore rich, fantastical worlds; create complex, driven characters; and learn how to hone our plot points into stories that the bards will sing of for ages to come. In the mornings, we will focus on craft by engaging with prompts, writing in class, and workshopping our drafts. In the afternoons, we will use what we learned to forge our own story together in the world of Dungeons & Dragons by playing the game. (All-new story for returning adventurers!)

Ben Callahan is an artist and educator who teaches enrichment programs in several school districts across Western New York. He moved to Rochester after acquiring his Master of Education at Monmouth University in his home state of New Jersey.

Emma Callahan graduated from Goucher College in 2015 with a degree in Creative Writing and Art History. She works at Eagle Productivity Solutions doing scriptwriting and instructional design. When she’s not playing tabletop games like Dungeons & Dragons, she usually can be found reading a book.
