Fiction Meets Nonfiction; Verse Meets Prose

Cross the genre border and explore new terrain! Developing intriguing characters and engaging plots can enhance nonfiction pieces, while researching facts can bring depth to fiction writing. Writing poetry can sensitize us to wordplay and imagery. We will read personal essay, flash fiction, and poetry; and strengthen craft through writing exercises. Try creating mixed genre pieces or pieces outside your usual genre.
