Finding Your Voice with a Journal
January 18, 2020 @ EST 11:00 am - 12:30 pm
$25.00
Member price: $22
Instructor: Nancy Steinkamp
What do Mark Twain, Virginia Woolf, C.S. Lewis, and Anais Nin have in common? They are all published authors who kept a journal, the container that holds a writer’s fullest expression. In this class, we will experience a variety of writing techniques that adapt to the changing landscape of our lives and help us to identify subjects to explore, and develop a writing habit. By learning to alter our perspectives, connect with the deeper meaning of our experiences, and respond to natural prompts in life, we befriend the writing process, develop our unique voices, and increase our self-understanding. New and seasoned journal keepers will be invigorated to start or continue their writing journey.
Nancy Steinkamp, MS, CTRS is a certified journal writing instructor, who has studied with the Center for Journal Therapy and the Therapeutic Writing Institute. Nancy was a 2018 Listen to Your Mother cast member performing her piece “Do You Wanna Sleep Over?” about being an older mom. Through her business, Wisdom Writing (www.wisdomwriting.org) she leads a variety of expressive writing workshops.
