Genesee Reading Series – Ralph Black & Al Abonado

$6.00Now in its 34th year, the Genesee Reading Series is a smorgasbord for your literary palate. Come every month on the second Tuesday, and by the end of the year, you will have feasted on the work of 24 regional authors (some prominent, some emerging; writers of fiction, poetry, essay, creative nonfiction, memoir). It’s up close and personal in the intimate Performance Space upstairs – stay afterwards and talk to the authors while eating cookies.

Ralph Black is the author of Turning Over the Earth, from Milkweed Editions, and a chapbook, The Apple Psalms. He is the recipient of the Anne Halley Poetry Prize from The Massachusetts Reviewand the Chelsea Poetry Prize. His poems have appeared in The Georgia and Gettysburg Reviews, Orion, and West Branch. His newest collection is Bloom and Laceration, which received the 2017 Hopper Poetry Prize from Green Writers Press. He teaches at SUNY, College at Brockport.
Albert Abonado teaches creative writing at SUNY Geneseo. He is a past NYFA Fellow in Poetry. His poems have appeared in Boston Review, The Margins, Waxwing, Zone 3, and others. He is the host of Flour City Yawp on WAYO 10.3FM-LP.
