South of Little Rock

South of Little Rock is a story of love, hate, fear, and courage as the residents of a small town in southern Arkansas deal with change during the Little Rock Central High School desegregation crisis of 1957. South of Little Rock is the recipient of the 2019 Independent Publishers Bronze Medal for Best Novel (South) winner of the Next Generation Indie Book Award for Regional Fiction, and the 2019 National Indie Excellence Award for Regional Fiction: Southeast.

George Rollie Adams is president and CEO emeritus at Strong National Museum of Play, author of General William S. Harney: Prince of Dragoons(a finalist for the Army Historical Foundation’s Distinguished Book Award), coauthor of Nashville: A Pictorial History, coeditor of Ordinary People and Everyday Life: Perspectives on the New Social History, and founding editor in chief of the American Journal of Play.  A former teacher, Adams holds graduate degrees in history and education and is a native of southern Arkansas.
