Getting Started: Form and Content for the Beginning Writer
January 11, 2020 @ EST 11:00 am - 12:30 pm
$25.00
Member price: $22
Instructor: Anais Salibian
Do you have an urge to write even though you are not clear what you want to write about? This workshop will get you going with prompts designed to help you generate material in various genres. You’ll learn to approach writing in three stages: getting words on the page, asking yourself the right questions during revision, and editing skillfully. We also will explore how fiction, creative nonfiction, and memoir overlap (or don’t) and what it means to get at the truth of your subject. New writers will gain foundational skills, and experienced writers will find inspiration to keep going
Anais Salibian holds a Master’s degree in English literature and a Certification in Secondary Education. She has taught writing classes at Writers & Books since 1989.
