Grounding in Gratitude

March 26, 2020 @ EST 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

$22.00

Our workshops are moving to the virtual classroom! Through the magic of Zoom, you can fully participate–respond to prompts and exercises and interact with your instructor and fellow writers. The day before your workshop you’ll receive an email with your link to Zoom for your session.

Member Price: $22
Instructor: Kristen Zory King

Chaos and uncertainty can make us feel isolated and alone. Remaining grounded in gratitude and community can help, as can connecting through art and writing. In this generative writing workshop, participants will examine gratitude as active pursuits in both writing and life. We will study contemporary poems that effectively acknowledge, appreciate, or, resist the world around them. Each writer will leave with a draft of one poem and prompts to use for further writing.

Kristen Zory King is a writer and artist facilitator based in Washington, DC. She is a 2019 recipient of an Arts and Humanities Fellowship through the DC Commission on Arts and Humanities as well as an alumni of the 5th Woman Poetry Fellowship in Knoxville, TN and of the 202 Creates Residency Program in Washington, DC.
