Hogwarts 1: Book Discussion with Chris Fanning Monday, July 22
Are you an adult that enjoyed Harry Potter (and rereading it, and bingeing the movies, and going on Pottermore)? Then you are in luck! This one-evening discussion group will cover themes and characters, Horcruxes and historical battles, wizarding schools and more! Bring a friend and come embrace your inner Hufflepuff, or house of your choosing.
Hogwarts 2: Herbology with Angela Cannon-Crothers Tuesday, July 23
Come learn about the magical, mystical, and dangerous elements of herbology. We’ll celebrate the abundance of summer with items from a magical garden, as well as learn about the magical properties of every day ingredients, and you’ll go home ready for your next spell.
Hogwarts 3: Runes with Paul Moyer Wednesday, July 24
Interested in learning the ancient secrets of wand-less spell casting? If so, then you’re invited to attend this beginners’ class on runes and rune magic. The course introduces wizarding students of third year and above to the runic alphabet known as the “Elder Furthark;” the different methods by which its symbols can be used to produce magical effects; and the employment of runes in the magical arts of divination, necromancy, enchantment, and charms.
Hogwarts 4: World-Building Workshop with Meags Downing Thursday, July 25
Congratulations! You are now the Head of your very own School of Witchcraft and Wizardry! In this class you will pick a location, design your school, decide the subjects, and hire a few professors then write a short story about a day at the school!
Hogwarts 5: That’s Not Fair! Reviving Our Favorite Characters with Christine Green Friday, July 26
We’ve all had that moment while reading Harry Potter book—one of our favorites get Avada Kedavra-ed and we’re left broken and beat. Well, tonight’s the night to celebrate them! Let’s remember the good times we had: their heroic deeds, the times they made us laugh, and most importantly, the attributes that made them so memorable.
