I Survived | Ages: 8-11

Attention time travelers! Do you want to learn more about significant events, such as the sinking of the Titanic, Hurricane Katrina, or 9/11?  We’ll spend the week exploring what makes historical fiction so compelling by engaging with a selection of Lauren Tarshis’ popular, age-appropriate I Survived novels. We will focus on the historical significance of the tragic events that drive the narratives, as well as imagine what it was like to survive them. Through discussion, reading, research, and writing prompts we’ll delve into the past and consider the experiences of young, resilient characters who survived well-known natural disasters and life-altering historical events.

Cancellation: In the event that a camp must be canceled due to low enrollment or other unforeseeable circumstances, you will be notified as far in advance as possible, generally 3-5 business days. A full refund will be issued.

Withdrawal: To withdraw, email vanessaf@wab.org. If you withdraw at least 10 business days before the first day of  camp, you will receive a full refund, minus a 15% administrative fee. If you withdraw between 5 and 9 business days before the first day of  camp, you will receive a full refund, minus a 25% administrative fee. No refunds will be given for withdrawals after the above cited dates.
