“One child, one teacher, one pen, and one book can change the world.” –Malala Yousafzai
Are you passionate about justice? Do you have something to say about what you see happening in the news, or in your neighborhood or school? Do you want to gain insights and tools for turning your creativity into activism? Come make a difference. Throughout the week you will work together with your peers, facilitated by a diverse range of teaching artists who will lead discussions, writing exercises, group activities, and creative projects. May the force be with you as you study the ways of the JED(A)I: you’ll celebrate diversity; advocate for justice; and learn why equity, accessibility, and inclusion matter. You will investigate racial justice, Deaf culture, our environment and issues of climate justice, representation in children’s books, and how stories—including fairy tales—can help us solve problems and make the world a better place. For most activities campers will be split into groups by age.
