Virtual Event with Steve Majors

Every family has secrets. Who gets to decide which stories are shared? Memoir writers often struggle with telling authentic stories while at the same time protecting the feelings and reputation of loved ones. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to mine the past for compelling content while preserving your personal and family privacy.

The author of the memoir High YellaSteve Majors is a former television news journalist who has worked for such media organizations as NBC News and, most recently, mission-driven national nonprofits. His essays on race, culture, and identity have been published in The New York Times, The Washington Post, and other outlets. He currently serves as vice president of marketing for a national education nonprofit serving marginalized students.
