Staring at a blank page can be daunting. Understanding how to begin, what to accomplish in that first sentence, paragraph, or page, can make the path forward not only possible, but exciting. In this workshop, we will learn how to get started, and will practice the basics by crafting the opening of your novel.
David B. Seaburn has written seven novels, most recently, Gavin Goode (2019). His was a Finalist for the National Indie Excellence Award in General Fiction (2011), a second-place winner of the TAZ Awards for Fiction (2017), an American Book Fest Finalist for “Best Book” in General Fiction (2019), and a Semi-Finalist in Literary, Contemporary and Satire Fiction for the Somerset Award (2019). He was shortlisted for the Somerset Award in 2018.
Workshops are conducted EST via Zoom, a virtual platform that allows you to participate in exercises and contribute to group conversation. To participate, please register by the deadline using the ticket portal below, or go to Scholarships. Zoom links are emailed to registered.
