Outdoor Writer

July 18, 2016 @ EST 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

$242

Course Code: JY16-G02 NOTE: Held at the Gell Center of the Finger Lakes. A van will run from 740 University Avenue(Writers & Books) in Rochester leaving promptly at 8am and returning at 5pm. Summertime, sunshine, green rolling hills, wildlife, and you! Spend a week communing with the writer within you at our retreat in the Bristol Hills. Explore with professional writers and naturalists along the Finger Lakes Trail, and observe the natural environment around you. We will try a variety of natural arts activities, both ancient and modern. We will each create field journals in which to sketch and write stories, dramatic monologues, and poems probing the past, present, and future of the landscape, plants, and animals before us. Our favorite pieces will be used to create an all-camp anthology. Please dress to hike, and pack a bag lunch each day. If you have your own camera, please bring that as well! The younger Where’s Walden group and the older Outdoor Writer group will function as separate classes, but some activities will overlap.
