Popping the Questions
May 18, 2016 @ EST 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
$123
Now a staple of every conceivable form of media, the interview has become an ever-present part of modern life. But interviewing isn’t nearly as easy as it looks—it’s an art form that requires technique. With some practice, however, the interview process can prove immensely rewarding, useful, and even fun. In this workshop, participants will learn how to come up with incisive questions, develop a comfortable rapport, and deal with some common stumbling blocks like tightlipped subjects and unexpected detours. Fun-filled exercises include prepping questions for any real or fictitious figure from history, play-by-play analysis of interviews that famously crashed and burned, and a culminating interview with a guest subject that we conduct as a group. Whether you’re just starting out or are already experienced in the interview process, this workshop is designed to help you get engaging, snappy, informative “Q & A’s” and sound byte-quality quotes. “Saby generated an enthusiasm in my life of writing and interviewing.” -Len Paganelli
