Writing poems is hard. Writing poems with writer’s block is harder. Many poets will turn to prompts to get over these bouts of writer’s block and inspire new writing. But what do you do if you have prompt block too? In this workshop, we will talk about what makes a prompt inspiring and effective. We will talk about the building blocks of making an effective prompt and build a few prompts of our own. To conclude, we will reflect on how to make a prompt work best for you: your writing style, practice, and skill level. Everyone will leave with a prompt they have built and a few prompts built by their workshop-mates.
