Punch Line: Sketches and Short Plays

Many playwrights such as David Ives, Murray Schisgal, Christopher Durang, Steve Martin, and Elaine May have established their reputation working in short plays. This six-week class, while paying attention to the many forms of comic writing (satire, farce, burlesque, and the absurd), will allow you to develop, critique, and stage-proof your short pieces. Special attention will be devoted to preparing your work for submission to the 2 Pages/2 Voices contest at Writers & Books and the burgeoning literary market for short plays.
