Stand Up for Young Comedians

Unless otherwise noted, SummerWrite camps are offered as 5-session experiences, Monday – Friday.

Have you ever seen a stand up comedy routine, a comedic monologue, or a funny speech and thought, “That looks like fun”? It is fun, and now you can try it at SummerWrite! In this camp, students will be introduced to stand up comedy and given a brief introduction to other types of live comedic performance. We will learn different techniques to add humor to our writing and have an opportunity to write and try out stand up comedy, monologues, or short sketches (student’s choice). The final day will include a performance for family and friends.
