Teen Poetry Slam

Course Code: JY16-P14 You have something to say. Say it loud. Say it proud. Slam poetry is performance poetry that can come out looking like hip hop, Shakespeare, or anything in between. We will write. We will read. We will perform. Under the encouraging guidance of Roc Bottom, Rochester’s own poetry slam team, you will craft poems that deliver a message, and you will be given the tools you need to make your performance come alive. Using published poetry, video excerpts, and Roc Bottom’s own poetry performance as inspiration, we will work together as a team to hone our craft. And on Friday we’ll take to the stage to share our words!
