Telling Tales | Ages: 7-9

In this exciting camp, a collaboration between Writers & Books and the Creative Workshop at the Memorial Art Gallery, you’ll create your own characters and explore your own story ideas. You’ll learn the tools of the trade—how to illustrate an idea, choose a fitting style, and draw things you don’t know how to draw—and learn the basics of plot, character, and setting, all using juicy language. At the end of the week, you’ll take home your own comic or story book and illustrated mini stories. We will also spend time drawing in the museum. Students will spend the morning at Writers & Books working with a writer and the afternoon at the Creative Workshop learning from an artist. Staff will walk the students between these sites during the lunch hour.

Cancellation: In the event that a camp must be cancelled due to low enrollment or other unforeseeable circumstances, you will be notified as far in advance as possible, generally 3-5 business days. A full refund will be issued.
Withdrawal: To withdraw, email office@wab.org. If you withdraw at least 10 business days before the first day of camp, you will receive a full refund, minus a 15% administrative fee. If you withdraw between 5 and 9 business days before the first day of camp, you will receive a full refund, minus a 25% administrative fee. No refunds will be given for withdrawals after the above cited dates.
