The Conversation We Need to Have: Writing for Change

August 17 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Member Price: 125
Deadline to Register: 11:59 pm on August 2
Instructor: Robert Ricks
Age Group: 12-14

Sometimes what we don’t say out loud is what matters most. In this camp, we will dig deep in our hearts, examine our community, and write about the things that keep us up at night or disrupt our focus on some days. Whether it’s peer pressure, politics, parents, poverty, injustice, the environment, or anything else, this is a safe space to write our hearts out. Our words will get the conversation started—through poetry, fiction, monologue, personal essay, or whatever form moves us most. Writing has the power to create change within ourselves, and in our communities. We’ll engage in discussion, work with a variety of writing prompts, and share our work when we’re ready.
