Your writer’s or project notebook is the companion that can guide you through generating, revising and even editing your drafts. This notebook will contain writing that is not necessarily part of the content of your project, but that supports building content, structure, and even style. Plus, it will “hold your hand” when you get stuck.
What goes into a project notebook? You’ll learn a list of about 20 types of entries you can make, along with their purposes. Some are practical (research, craft) and some are process oriented (Why am I having trouble with this passage? How do I get to know my characters more deeply?). During the workshop, we will try on some of these types of writing so that you can get a sense of how they support your project.
