Theatre for Social Change | Ages: 12-14
August 8 @ EST 9:00 am - August 12 @ EST 12:00 pm$150
Are you passionate about seeking justice? Do you listen in on current events and happenings in your community, wondering what you can do to make the world a better, more welcoming place? Improvisational theatre is a perfect vehicle for exploring these issues! We’ll be inspired by a script that brings a multi-racial, blended family to their dinner table to talk about American culture and other issues that concern young people today, including economic disparity, policing, challenges to democracy, climate change, and gender equality. We’ll explore roles embodying these themes through acting exercises and spirited exchange. We’ll each write responses, which may take the form of poems, monologues, essays, or dialog to create a performance of our own. Expect to dive in deep to current issues and make our voices heard in a presentation on Friday.
