Writing a Powerful Memoir I: Getting Started

April 18, 2020 @ EST 11:00 am - 12:30 pm

$25

We’ve moved online! All workshops will be conducted through Zoom, an interactive platform that allows you to participate in exercises and contribute to group conversation in your workshops. The day before your workshop you’ll receive an email with a link to Zoom for your workshop session.

Member Price: $22
Instructor: Mark Block

Do you have a story to tell that might inspire or challenge others? In Part I, we’ll examine memoir composition and discuss key elements of anecdotal writing. We’ll then begin the writing process, selecting potential themes and stories you’d like to develop. Following a timed writing activity, participants will review their efforts and discuss next steps.

Mark Block is a semi-retired educator, classroom teacher and trainer. He also served as Adjunct Instructor at Syracuse University and Monroe Community College where he taught English and Composition. Currently he writes feature articles, blog posts and research papers for several publishers including Content Writers in NYC.
