Writing Speculative Fiction

September 28, 2015 @ EST 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

What if gravity pushed instead of pulled? If water froze at room temperature? If WWII ended differently? If two plus two did not equal four? Speculative fiction breaks the rules, redefines reality, and crosses boundaries—including boundaries of genres—spanning sci-fi, fantasy, horror, alternative history, and beyond. It’s a big universe with plenty of room for new worlds and new stories—including yours. In the first class we’ll explore spec fiction—what it is, what it isn’t, why we love it—and spend the rest of the course reading and discussing your work. This is an opportunity to share your stories and get feedback and advice from your peers in a stimulating and supportive environment. Now get writing!
