Writing the Labyrinth

May 11, 2016 @ EST 5:30 pm - 9:00 pm

$35

Join us for a brief introduction to the labyrinth and a walk on the Chartres labyrinth at Asbury United Methodist Church. The labyrinth is an ancient geometric pattern, usually circular, formed of intertwined spirals with a single path leading to the center. The path in is the same path out (unlike a maze, which has numerous choices of routes and is designed to confuse). Walking the labyrinth activates the problem-solving left brain. After the walk we will return to W&B to respond to writing prompts about this life-changing experience and share our experiences with the group. As a leading labyrinth researcher writes, “A walker leaving the labyrinth is not the same person who entered it, but has been born again into a new phase or level of existence.”
