We'll explore how to build in-depth worlds in your creative writing. We'll investigate fantasy and classic tales of alternate worlds, then create the building blocks for a fictional world, which could include a map, “rules” for the world, characters, illustrations, and the beginnings of stories!

Thursday: Bookmaking Extravaganza

Students will make three unique books during this workshop: a Kaleidoscope book that opens like a fan or a DNA Helix, a Flag book that has a series of pages that interweave, and a pop-up book that has parts that move with the action of turning the pages. We’ll choose beautiful papers for the covers, and then have the opportunity to draw and write in our new books! Price includes $10 materials fee.

You will have Hogwarts lessons such as Care of Magical Creatures and Defense Against the Dark Arts, and write for the Daily Prophet. It is not necessary to participate in Day One in order to participate in Day Two!
