Arthur McCraw, known to most as Marvelous Marvin, teaches creative writing at Roc Achieve Middle School. Marvin is a poet and lyricist who draws on real life experience and honest human struggle to inspire his writing. He has rocked freestyle battles, performances, and competitions all over New York State, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, and Wisconsin. He was a member of the former Roc Bottom poetry slam team here in Rochester, and mentored youth through the Writers & Books Breathing Fire slam program. He has also worked as a literary teaching artist with Flower City Arts Center, and been nominated two years running as one of the top 5 best poets in Rochester.
