Image City & Rochester Reads

The current exhibit at Image City Photography Gallery, “Peter’s Picks 2015: A Retrospective” includes a panel of photos in collaboration with our Neighbor, Writers & Books to coincide with the reading of The Enchanted by Rene Denfeld as part of the “if All Rochester Reads the Same Book” series. Partner Steve Levinson describes his photos: These photos are of the dungeon in the Castello Estense in Ferrara Italy. Built in 1385 it has massive dungeons with an amazing history. The half brother of the Duke Alfonso d’Este was imprisoned in the dungeons for 53 years for plotting to overthrow the Duke. The brother created quite a stir when he finally emerged onto the streets of Ferrara in the clothing he had brought with him into this cell a half century before! The exhibit continues through March 19 at the Gallery.
