Nina Alvarez is a fiction writer, poet, and playwright. Her writing has most recently been published in Tupelo Quarterly, Split Lip Magazine, and Prick of the Spindle. Her short play “Type Writer” was a finalist in the 2015 GeVa “2 Pages/2 Voices” festival, and her play “The Life of Leo Wool” was produced in 2013 by the GRRC. She was awarded the 2014 Writers & Books’ Big Pencil Award for her work with teen writers in workshops and through Canvas Teen Literary Journal. Nina launched the publishing company Cosmographia Books in 2015. She has a master’s degree in English and over 13 years’ experience as a teacher and editor.
